About the Lauberhorn

The Lauberhorn is a mountain peak between Grindelwald and Wengen in the Bernese Oberland. There is a chairlift from Kleine Scheidegg to the Lauberhorn. The Lauberhorn is famous mostly because of the annual ski race taking place on its slopes. But it also offers a spectacular view on the Eiger and Jungfrau mountains.

The photo

The picture was taken around 2003. Standing at the Jungfraujoch, the view goes down to Kleine Scheidegg and the Lauberhorn (The first peak in the middle). Behind the Lauberhorn, there are the Männlichen (Peak) as well as the town of Interlaken in the valley. The photo shows a weather pattern often seen in the region: Fog in the midland (Background) and clear sky over the mountains.
